StandardAero has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) STC approval to re-engine the Hawker Beechcraft King Air F90 with P&WC PT6A-135A engines. It is the same engine that is type certified on the King Air F90-1.

A spokesman for the company told AINthe benefits of installing the STC are “improved performance, reduced long-term engine operating costs, and increased reliability and safety. The upgrade would also include compliance with the latest bulletins and engine modifications.

“In addition, when the operator requires an overhaul, he can send the engine in to us for a detailed cost estimate and we can provide either an overhaul option or re-engine STC option giving the customer best overall value,” he said.

The conversion takes less than a week to complete “provided it is booked in advance and done at a capable location. Most FBOs would be able to provide the necessary support,” he said.
