Eastar Jet has signed an agreement with Ameco Beijing for MRO services on the airline’s five Boeing 737NGs. It calls for C-checks and landing-gear overhauls on four of the aircraft. The contract goes into effect next week. According to an Ameco Beijing spokesman, the MRO, Lufthansa Technik and Hawker Pacific are acting together as a worldwide landing gear alliance. Ameco Beijing counts South Korea’s Asiana Airlines and Korean Air among its customers. In 2009, Ameco Beijing performed line maintenance work for Seoul, South Korea-based Eastar Jet but this is the first time the MRO will be providing airframe and landing-gear overhaul services. Eastar Jet is a low-cost airline that serves South Korea. Ameco Beijing provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services for airframes, engines and components on both Boeing and Airbus aircraft and is licensed by the CAAC, FAA and EASA.
