Summit Aviation has received AS9100 aerospace quality standard system certification at its Somerset, Ky., facility.
According to Robert Fitzpatrick, the company’s president, AS9100 certification addresses the diversity and complexity of the industry’s supply chain and takes into consideration the complete life cycle of aerospace products. Summit’s Middletown, Del. facility has been AS9100 certified since 2007 and recently underwent a re-certification audit.
“The requirements of AS9100, which builds on elements of ISO 9001:2000, will benefit all our customers because the standard focuses on critical areas important to all industries such as supply chain management and inventory control,” Fitzpatrick said.
Summit Aviation offers aircraft and engine maintenance and modification services on Bell, Eurocopter, Sikorsky, Boeing and MD helicopters as well as on Pilatus PC-12s, Cessna Caravans, Beechcraft King Airs and Beechjets and other light jets. The company also provides engine maintenance and support for Pratt & Whitney Canada and Turbomeca.
