Associated Aviation Acquires Timber Wolf Aviation

British Columbia-based Associated Aviation has acquired Timber Wolf Aviation of Ottawa, Canada. Timber Wolf, an MRO specializing in helicopter maintenance, holds approvals for Eurocopter’s AS350 and EC120. “The company is well positioned to support our European and South American markets,” Rod Youngberg, Associated Aviation’s president, told AIN. “The addition of Timber Wolf Aviation to our team greatly enhances our portfolio of Transport Canada-approved services and provides us with an existing Eastern Canada repair and overhaul operation from which we can effectively extend our services to the North American and international commercial and defense markets.” Youngberg said the MRO’s location in the Ottawa Valley is within easy trucking distance of the St. Lawrence Seaway, allowing the company to handle work from the UK and South America. “It is often more cost effective to bring an aircraft in by ship,” he said. Until the company is rebranded in about six to eight months, it will be called the Timber Wolf Division of Associated Aviation.
