BLR Aerospace has named Heritage Aviation of Burlington, Vt., an authorized dealer for its King Air winglets. Heritage Aviation, a 79,000-sq-ft green FBO with maintenance and avionics capabilities, joins a global network of 21 dealers with service facilities in 35 locations. “We’re now up to our 300th installed system across all models, and since March 3, when we received FAA certification for the C90, we’ve shipped 84 systems,” Dave Marone, BLR Aerospace’s v-p of sales and marketing, told AIN. According to Marone, winglet-equipped King Airs benefit from reduced drag, which translates into “measurably better fuel economy” and increased climb rates and cruise speeds. Winglets also make the aircraft more responsive for safer low-speed handling qualities, the company said, especially during takeoffs and landings in short-field operations. BLR’s King Air winglets are standard factory equipment on the Hawker Beechcraft King Air 90GTx and are available as an aftermarket modification. BLR’s portfolio of winglet systems is certified by the FAA, EASA and ANAC.
