Garmin announced a program last month to offer its
G1000 avionics system for retrofit installation in the King Air 300 and 350. With the completion of the STC, expected in the middle of next year, the G1000 cockpit will be available as a retrofit package for the King Air C90, 200, B200, 300 and 350 and the Cessna CitationJet. The G1000 retrofit ­configuration for the King Air 300 and 350 will feature two
10.4-inch PFDs and a 15-inch MFD, and can include several Garmin add-ons, notably the electronic stability and protection system (Garmin ESP), synthetic-vision technology (SVT), Waas GPS and terrain awareness and warning system (Taws).
