Five industry professionals recently formed a new nonprofit organization, Sky Hope Network, to offer business aviation support in emergencies. Sky Hope founder Robin Eissler, vice president of Jet Quest, was heavily involved in the Corporate Aviation Responding to Emergencies (Care) relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the devastating earthquake in Haiti earlier this year. Sky Hope board members Sean Anthony of Windsor Jet Management and Eric Zipkin of Tradewind Aviation were also involved in Care relief efforts. Other founding board members are Janet Bressler and Jo Damato. Eissler said Sky Hope’s mission is to “use the power of business aviation to solve problems during emergencies and urgent situations.” Sky Hope said it will coordinate business aviation relief flights during both small- and large-scale disasters; provide coordination and referrals of flight requests for urgent or emergency situations through Sky Hope's aircraft network or by working with other flight charity organizations; and offer emergency assistance, both flight and nonflight related, for people in the business aviation community. The group is seeking volunteers and resource and monetary donations via its Web site.
