The FAA has revoked Mesa, Ariz.-based Phoenix Heliparts' air agency certificate for allegedly "performing improper repairs and deliberately falsifying maintenance records." Tina Cannon, president of Phoenix Heliparts, told AIN, "We were completely shocked by this. We had not been using the privileges of our [Part] 145 [approval] for about a year-and-a-half. We moved into our new facility on March 1, and on June 21 we signed all our manuals and the FSDO handed us our updated certificate. We operated from January 2009 until June 21 under Part 65," she said. "Two months later we get an emergency revocation notice for something that happened in 2008." Cannon said that the company continues to do business under FAR Part 65 and has filed an appeal with the NTSB over the FAA's notice of emergency revocation. "We made a change in senior management and rewrote the company's quality manual. As a result, FAA inspectors performed an audit of the manuals and our new facility, and reissued the repair station certificate on June 21. We were shocked when we subsequently got the emergency revocation notice," she said.
