Surrounded by historic aircraft tracing the history of manned flight, NBAA received the prestigious National Aviation Hall of Fame 2010 Milton Caniff “Spirit of Flight Award” on July 16 in Dayton, Ohio, honoring the association for its significant contribution to America’s aviation heritage.
FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt presented the award to NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen and board chairman Patrick Cunningham, director of aviation for PepsiCo, in a ceremony as part of the National Aviation Hall of Fame’s annual “Enshrinement Weekend” at the National Museum of the United States Air Force’s Modern Flight Gallery adjacent to Wright-Patterson AFB. 
“NBAA is humbled by this honor, because it pays tribute to the tens of thousands of extraordinary individuals whose passion and professionalism have made the business aviation community one of America’s great success stories,” said Bolen. Previous recipients have included Nasa’s Apollo program and the X-Prize Foundation. 
The evening featured a special video telling the story of business aviation and demonstrating the ways that NBAA member companies of all sizes rely on business aviation to succeed. The film featured association members, local elected officials and others repeatedly stating: “No Plane, No Gain!”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
