Chad is the editor of AINalerts, AIN's daily business aviation newsletter, and is also the news editor at AIN Media Group.&nbsp;He has been writing about aviation, with an emphasis on business aviation, since 1994. Chad started his writing career at The Avion,&nbsp;the&nbsp;student newspaper at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, serving as editor-in-chief before graduating with a bachelor's in aeronautical science. After a stint as managing editor at Professional Pilot&nbsp;magazine, he joined&nbsp;AIN in late 1998. Chad holds a commercial pilot certificated with instrument and multi-engine ratings, and he also is a CFI/CFII. He lives and works from his home in Venice, Florida.

São Paulo, Brazil-based Embraer delivered 69 regional and executive jets in the second quarter, up 15 aircraft from the same period last year. Shipments of Embraer’s executive jets more than doubled from 19 in the second quarter last year to 40 this year, while regional jet deliveries fell from 35 to 29. Phenom deliveries accounted for all but one of the 40 business jets the aircraft manufacturer shipped in the quarter, with 35 Phenom 100s and four Phenom 300s handed over to customers. Embraer delivered one Lineage 1000 bizliner in the second quarter. As of June 30, Embraer’s firm order backlog for regional and executive jets stood at $15.2 billion, down from $16 billion at the end of the first quarter.
