Abu Dhabi-based Royal Jet has awarded a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contract to Snecma for the CFM56-7B engines that power its Boeing Business Jets. Snecma has had an established relationship with the charter operator for eight years. Gaël Meheust, Snecma’s vice president of sales and marketing, said, “Snecma is committed to supporting VIP operators and was especially honored to have been selected by one of the leading VIP carriers in the Middle East.” According to a spokesman for Royal Jet, “Snecma’s expertise, local presence and proven ability to ensure that its engines operate as efficiently as possible” were some of the reasons behind the decision to extend the partnership. “The contract will allow us to meet our objectives in terms of engine reliability and shop visit planning while keeping costs under control,” he added. Royal Jet currently operates six BBJs, the world’s largest charter fleet of the type.
