Embraer announced strategic customer support enhancements in the Asia Pacific region. According to the Brazilian airframer, all parts and logistics support for Embraer commercial and business aircraft in the region will be managed from the regional distribution center in Singapore. A company spokesman said the move allows Embraer to be “self sufficient in the management and administration of all parts and logistics support for its growing Asia Pacific fleet.” The enhancements include an expansion of the existing regional distribution center to house new inventory for Embraer’s executive jets. The parts were previously held at the company’s facilities in Paris, and Embraer says that relocation to Singapore will accelerate the supply of business-jet parts throughout Asia. There is also a four-fold increase in the materials support team’s office space, which was previously based in two separate locations in Singapore. Embraer has had a corporate office in Singapore since 2000 and a dedicated training center there since 2007.
