Charter/management operator Air Rutter International has changed its name to JetFlite International and added a new operating base at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, N.Y. JetFlite is headquartered in Long Beach, Calif., and the new
base in New York will help the company deliver charter and aircraft maintenance services to East Coast customers. Two jets, a Gulfstream IV and Challenger 601, are based at the new East Coast operation. JetFlite also operates the Long Beach Air Center FBO at its California headquarters. The name “Air Rutter” came from people who launched the company many years ago. “JetFlite we think is more in keeping with the modern sense of our going-forward strategy,” said John Williams, president of the new eastern division. JetFlite has a dozen aircraft under management. “The New York metropolitan area is one of the largest markets for private jet flights and aircraft management in the world,” he said. “By having bases in both markets, we’re well positioned to take advantage in what we see as a renewed upswing in business.”
