TAG Aviation (Booth No. 651) is substantially upgrading its operation here at Geneva Airport. The expansion includes a new hangar built around the existing workshops, and topped by a four-story office building. The new facility, scheduled to open this summer, will include 61,500 sq ft of hangar space, one third more than the previous surface area, and 9,700 sq ft of new offices. TAG will occupy all the space and the new hangar will be devoted exclusively to maintenance, with no parking space available for rent. However, visiting aircraft can park at the recently opened nearby Skypark hangar.

In a second stage of expansion, in August TAG will start to refurbish its FBO facility located in the C3 terminal next to the new hangar and office building. It will move offices out of the lounge area creating additional space for enlarging the FBO. TAG will continue using the executive customs clearance gate also available to Jet Aviation and PrivatPort, which occupy space in the C3 terminal.

The company also has facilities at Madrid Torrejon Airport, Paris Le Bourget, Hong Kong and operates the UK’s Farnborough Airport, exclusively devoted to executive aviation, where it has an FBO and an extensive maintenance facility.

The privately owned group also manages a large fleet of executive aircraft in Europe and Asia, and offers some 40 of them for charter in Europe. According to CEO Robert Wells, the charter business has suffered most from recession, but started to recover early this year.

During the economic downturn, TAG’s aircraft management, brokerage, maintenance, handling, dispatching and weather information activities, as well as crew training have fared well and the company, which employs around 860 people, has remained profitable.

TAG Geneva is an authorized service center for all Bombardier Challenger and CRJ aircraft types, as well as for Learjets up to the size of the 60XR, plus all Dassault Falcon jets. In addition, the company offers base and line maintenance for the Cessna Citation 550/560 series; the Hawker 750, 800XP, 850XP and 900XP; and the Gulfstream G200. The Geneva facility also is an authorized service center for Honeywell and Thales avionics.

TAG Farnborough also has extensive maintenance capabilities, while the Madrid Torrejon facility offers line maintenance in addition to handling. The company’s Paris facility is devoted to line maintenance and AOG assistance. TAG Hong Kong, set up in 2006, is active in aircraft management and executive charter throughout the Asia Pacific area.
