Sentient Jet announced today that Marty Guinoo is taking over as CEO, replacing Steve Hankin, who has left the company for a new job as managing director of private equity firm Starwood Capital. Hankin worked for Starwood Hotels before joining Sentient in 2004. Guinoo has been senior vice president at Sentient since 2004. Sentient brokers charters and sells jet cards. “We produced the only non-fractional competitor out there that has the service, integrity and safety reputation that we do,” Hankin told AIN. “Getting through the industry turmoil of the last year-and-a-half has been challenging, we’re gaining share again and are back in a position of leadership. I have a lot of pride in that.” Hankin said he learned a lot from his stint in the aviation business. “All of us around the table are blessed and cursed with the desire to be in the service business,” he said. Guinoo doesn’t plan major changes at Sentient. “I’m extremely happy with the way things are going,” he said. “It’s a testament to the team Steve built.”
