Odom Aircraft Parts of Salt Springs, Fla., has been acquired by Southwind Aviation, an aftermarket service and support provider for aerospace accessories and structural components. The terms of the deal were not released. Donna Odom, the company’s president, will continue with Southwind Aviation in a senior customer support role. The company was founded in 1954 by her late husband, Glen Odom. The company specializes in repair, overhaul and spares support for Lucas and APC model starter generators installed on various business and general aviation aircraft and helicopters, including King Airs, Twin Commanders, Bell 206s and Sikorsky S-76s. According to George Andrews, president of Southwind Aviation, the Odom Aircraft Parts assets include “one of the industry’s largest inventories of overhauled, exchange Lucas and APC starter generators and a longstanding, global customer base.” Andrews said Odom’s assets and operations have already been fully integrated and will continue under the Southwind Aviation brand.
