Rockwell Collins yesterday completed the acquisition of AR Group and its affiliated companies, including business aviation trip-support services provider Air Routing International. During the transition, the company will be known as āAir Routing International, a Rockwell Collins Company.ā According to Rockwell Collins vice president and general manager of information management Steve Timm, āOne of our growth strategies is to extend beyond products and systems to bring value-added applications and services for flight operations. Air Routingās expertise in flight planning and trip support is a natural fit with this strategy.ā Air Routing, which has been providing flight departments with trip-planning services for more than 30 years, recently extended its offering to give customers online access to its flight support tools. This provides customers with access to a single-source, global solution for weather services, flight planning services, fuel arrangements, international trip handling and concierge services, Collins said. The avionics manufacturer first announced its intent to purchase Air Routing in November.
