The FAA has awarded repair station status to Munich, Germany-based 328 Support Services for the Dornier 328 jet and turboprop in recognition of its executive conversion work, primarily in Europe so far. The company is working on its first executive 328 destined for a U.S. customer, Aviando Services of Miami. Dave Jackson, 328 Support Services chief executive, said the company is progressing well with its first N-registered 12-seat conversion, scheduled for delivery in next year’s first quarter. “This extension to our approval will enable 328 Support to expand into the U.S. market and offer VIP conversions on the type,” Jackson said. The conversion features a full HD-quality in-flight entertainment system, noise-reduction kit, satellite communication system (including on-board Internet access), an overall increase in cabin space and electric window blinds. 328 Support Services is the type certificate holder for the Dornier 328 jet and turboprop and is a registered production, customer support, engineering and third-party maintenance organization with headquarters at Oberpfaffenhofen Airfield, near Munich.
