BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) company Dallas Airmotive is stationing an AOG mobile repair vehicle in Southern California to provide engine services. The vehicle will be equipped to perform on-site engine diagnosis and repair, including hot-section inspection of Honeywell APU units and module exchange for Rolls-Royce 250 series engines. It will be dispatched on demand from its base at Signature Flight Support in Van Nuys to service the Southern California basin. The new unit is the third vehicle in use by Dallas Airmotive’s AOG service. The Northeast is serviced by a vehicle based in Teterboro, N.J., and the Southeast covered by one located in West Palm Beach, Fla. All service vehicles provide OEM-authorized service and are outfitted with the necessary tools and shop materials to provide on-site APU hot-section inspection, APU compressor carbon seal changes, Rolls-Royce Model 250 module maintenance and exchange, PW305 IBR inspection, plus engine removal and replacement, non-destructive testing and LRU replacement. The company put its first AOG vehicle into service in 2006.
