The Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Company (LHTec), a joint venture between Honeywell and Rolls-Royce, has entered into a 10-year agreement with Aerospace Products International under which API will be the exclusive distributor of CTS800 spare parts globally.

Ken Roberts, president of Rolls-Royce helicopter engines and an LHTec board member, said the CTS800 helicopter engine program is on track and growing. “It’s critical that we provide our customers a 24-hour aftermarket parts and services solution wherever they operate in the world, and API has the capability and capacity to make that happen.”

API has a longstanding relationship with LHTec that includes providing all after-market supply chain management functions, demand forecasting, parts inventory planning, warehousing, distribution, ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance administration, and repairs and warranty administration. This agreement formally extends the relationship for another 10 years and broadens API’s role into customer credit and receivables management.

The CTS800 powers the Agusta-Westland Super Lynx 300, AW159 Wildcat and Mk 9A. It also provides the boundary- layer control system for the ShinMaiwa US-2 amphibian aircraft currently in production and in service with the Japanese Navy. The CTS800 is also the engine being used for the Sikorsky X2 high-speed technology development rotorcraft and has been selected to power the AgustaWestland T129 Turkish Atak helicopter program.
