Nextant Aerospace announced at the NBAA Convention that it has received STC approval for its Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 flight deck retrofit for Beechjet 400s and Hawker 400XPs. Consisting of two large LCD primary flight displays and one large LCD multifunction display, the cockpit retrofit is priced at $390,000. An additional second MFD can be installed for about $50,000. According to Nextant CEO Kenneth Ricci, the company has received Pro Line 21 upgrade orders for five airplanes. Installation takes three to four weeks, Ricci said, and customer deliveries are to begin next month. Nextant, based in Richmond Heights, Ohio, is also working on certification efforts for its 400Next remanufactured 400/400XPs with Pro Line 21 avionics and new Williams FJ44-3AP engines. Ricci said that the remanufactured aircraft are now priced at $3.9 million, which is a $1 million price reduction thanks to lower prices for pre-owned Beechjets that the company can then refurbish. Nextant says it has orders for 15 copies of the 400Next twinjet.
