Just as Universal Weather and Aviation celebrates its 50th year in business, the company announced a number of new products and services to deliver more comprehensive flight planning information to pilots, schedulers and dispatchers.
Universal’s free online weather broadcasts–Aviation Weather Today–have been segmented into 12 global regions to offer crews a quick, yet comprehensive snapshot of weather along their route of flight. Another enhancement to the new Universal broadcasts is the ability of a flight department to embed a video player into any local Web site and directly stream the shows through an RSS feed at no additional charge.
The new player also allows viewers to personalize the broadcasts from a carousel of show options that can be viewed in iGoogle, MyYahoo and other RSS-capable applications. Aviation Weather Today regional broadcasts include: the U.S.; North America; Europe; Asia; Africa; Australia; North Atlantic; South America; North, West and South Pacific; and the UK.
Universal encourages NBAA showgoers to visit its booth (No. 5717) and ask questions about topics like regulatory compliance with the European Union emissions trading scheme, eAPIS or the Visa Waiver Program, as well as to get tips on how to gain the most value from Universal’s hotel booking system.
