While others in the aviation industry were hunkering down for a terrible year in 2009, Aerospace Products International (API) added to its portfolio by developing exclusive logistics and distribution programs with Cirrus Aircraft and LHTEC (Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Co.), a joint venture between Honeywell and Rolls-Royce.

The Cirrus Parts by API program is an exclusive, five-year agreement through which API provides complete aftermarket spare parts distribution services worldwide. API (Booth No. 4032) will forecast spare-parts demand and plan global inventory levels in order to provide guaranteed spare-parts availability of Cirrus Aircraft parts to the global network of Cirrus authorized service centers.

The 10-year extension of the API-LHTEC logistics agreement names API as the exclusive distributor of CTS800 spare parts globally. With the program expansion, API will manage LHTEC’s aftermarket supply chain, including inventory investments, credit management and collections, in addition to its pre-existing demand forecasting, inventory planning, warehousing, distribution, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations and repair and warranty administration.

In addition to Cirrus and LHTEC, API has been awarded authorized distribution agreements with Elite Simulation Solutions (electronic IFR training products) and Saft NiCad batteries, as well as another exclusive distribution agreement with Otto Instrument, a Honeywell-authorized avionics and instrument repair and overhaul company. API is an authorized, master or exclusive distributor for more than 170 OEMs in the aviation industry.
