Oxford Airport Boasts More Traffic

The expansion of opening hours and its improved fire and rescue capability seem to have paid off at the UK’s Oxford Airport, which saw significant increases in business aviation traffic during July. On several days, the privately owned airport handled 20 business aircraft movements, compared with an average of 10 in July last year. The airport’s standard opening hours are now 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and it has the option to remain open until midnight. It also now offers Category 5 fire and rescue provision, allowing it to receive larger aircraft.

Charter operator London Executive Aviation bases aircraft at the airport, as does Synergy Aviation, and business aviation service provider Jet Connections has relocated its operation there from Farnborough Airport.
