The first Project Phoenix CRJ is about to enter service, having made its first flight on June 12 from the Flying Colours facility in Canada, where the former Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet was converted into a 15-passenger business jet. The customer for the CRJ is Hong Kong-based aircraft sales group Ritz Pacific. The former airliner, which was first delivered in 1997 and then logged approximately 20,000 hours in commercial service, has been zero-houred through a complete overhaul conducted by Toronto-based Skyservice. Its cabin features a new cabin management system, in-flight entertainment system complete with iPod docks, as well as Internet access and satellite communications.
