100-percent Financing for PT6A Engine Upgrade

Waco, Texas-based Blackhawk Modifications is offering an engine upgrade program with up to 100-percent financing to qualified U.S. buyers covering engines, shipping and installation of factory-new Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A engines. The company targets the King Air 90 and 200, Conquest I, Cheyenne and Caravan. “Providing financial assistance to turboprop owners looking to purchase new engines from Blackhawk is a real benefit,” Matt Shieman, chairman of Blackhawk Modifications, told AIN. Conserving cash outflow and potentially qualifying for the accelerated depreciation allowed when acquiring new PT6A engines provides the owner a better financial return than paying for engine overhauls, he said. The program allows a 15-year fully amortized loan schedule with a balloon payment due after five years. For example, a set of -61 engines at a list price of $870,000 would generate a monthly payment of $7,796. “It’s important to factor in the value of the tax savings under the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, too,” Shieman said.
