Stevens gets FAA nod for Learjet 60 avionics upgrade
The U.S.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has granted a parts manufacturing approval (PMA) to Stevens Aviation for an avionics upgrade to Bombardier’s Learjet 60. The supplementary type certificate covers the installation of the Universal Avionics EFI-890R multifunction display system with the application server unit and the optional Vision-1 synthetic- vision system.

“The upgrade allows us to provide an economical upgrade option to Lear 60 operators around the globe. This new kit creates a significant upgrade path for Lear 60s wherever they are based,” said Jim Williams, Stevens’ vice president of avionics programs.

“Last August we introduced the Lear4Ever program for Learjet Series 20 and 30 aircraft and this latest STC for the Lear 60 PMA demonstrates our ongoing focus to extend the life of existing aircraft,” he said. “With our upgrades and modifications, we can make a Learjet last virtually forever. The airframe is so well built and has such a solid reputation for performance, it is only natural for us to offer upgrade options.”

Stevens Aviation is currently in negotiations with several global partners for distribution and installation of the Learjet 60 kit. Organizations interested in participating in the program should visit Stevens Aviation here at the EBACE show (Booth No. 632) or contact the Greenville, South Carolina-based company.
