Russia’s Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant delivered two civil Mi-171 heavy helicopters to Iran last month. They will be operated by the Red Crescent Society, a nongovernmental humanitarian organization, and used for search-and-rescue missions and transporting victims of natural disasters. Another three Mi-171s are planned for delivery this month.
