Ronaldsway Airport on the Isle of Man expects to award by the end of this month a contract to build and operate a new FBO to cater to the growing number of business aircraft visiting the offshore financial center. Construction work is due to begin in the summer and should be completed within 12 months. The new facility will include almost 27,000 sq ft of hangar space with an adjoining dedicated ramp
of almost 22,000 sq ft.

The airport began the selection process for prospective FBO bidders in early December and had selected a candidate by early January. However, the company selected could not meet the required timescale for the program and so other companies were invited to re-submit bids.

The Isle of Man is located in the Irish Sea between the UK and Ireland. It opened a new aircraft register in mid-2007. More than 100 business aircraft
are now on the register.
