<p>Kit aircraft builder Epic Aircraft has announced plans for its first FAA certification project, the all-composite Escape single-engine turboprop. Although Epic had previously announced plans to certify the twin-engine Elite jet and single-engine Victory jet, the Escape is now first in line for formal certification. The Escape does share the same fuselage design as the Victory, however, so the Victory might be next in line. The Escape is a 92-percent scaled-down version of the Epic LT single-engine turboprop and offers four to five seats, 1,000-shp Honeywell TPE331-10 engine, 365-knot maximum cruise, 28,000-foot maximum altitude and 1,800-nm range (with full passenger load and unspecified reserve). Maximum takeoff weight is 5,500 pounds, 500 pounds less than that of the Eclipse 500 VLJ, and payload with full fuel 855 pounds.	</p>
