The requirement for takeoff and landing slots has been suspended at France’s Cannes-Mandelieu Airport during the winter months but could be reintroduced in March. The airport conducted a trial of slot coordination between May 23 and September 15, in which four IFR arrivals were permitted each hour and up to six departures, but with a maximum number of nine total movements per hour. Traffic data showed that the slot process reduced delays by as much as 70 percent, but also caused overall traffic levels to decrease.
