Dubai operator joins charter empty-legger

Empty-leg charter specialist Lunajets has launched a new partnership with Dubai-based operator Empire Aviation Group (EAG). The deal, signed here at the MEBA show yesterday, will allow EAG to market empty-leg flights through Lunajets, which is targeting first- and business-class airline passengers who may not yet have tried executive charter.

Lunajets claims to have more than 1,500 members in its online system and works with a network of over 90 operators in the Middle East, Europe, Russia and the U.S. to sell flights that would otherwise be made empty, after passengers from the outbound flight have reached their destinations. Once an empty-leg itinerary is entered in the Lunajets system, an automatic alert is sent by e-mail to all the members who have specifically asked to be informed of possible flights on this route.

The company claims to be able to offer flights for between 50 and 80 percent less than full charter rates. Members can book the flights online with a credit card.
