Fairchild Hiller FH-1100, Hosston, La., Sept. 12, 2007–The NTSB blamed the uncontrolled descent and crash of the helicopter on the in-flight separation of
the main rotor following a mast-bumping event. The reason for the mast bumping was not determined. The helicopter was in cruise when the main rotor and rotor hub assembly separated from the upper mast. The two pilots were killed.
