A memorandum of understanding between Jet Aviation and Vnukovo Invest, co-owner of Moscow Vnukovo International Airport, has created a joint venture that will significantly expand Jet Aviation’s Vnukovo aircraft maintenance operation starting next year. Signed during this year’s JetExpo show in the Russian capital, the pact paves the way for Jet Aviation to move into a new 32,827-sq-ft maintenance hangar adjoining the Moscow Vnukovo-3 FBO next year. The threefold expansion of hangar space from Jet Aviation’s current square footage will allow the company to expand its maintenance capability and to support a variety of business aircraft including locally based business jets and transient customers. Currently, Jet Aviation provides business aircraft maintenance services at Vnukovo International, the closest airport to the Moscow city center, in a 19,763-sq-ft hangar at Vnukovo-3, and is an authorized line maintenance and AOG facility for Bombardier Challenger and Global jets and authorized warranty line service facility for all Gulfstreams.
