Comlux announced the formation of Comlux America and the acquisition by that entity of independent completion and refurbishment specialist Indianapolis Jet Center.
According to Comlux Group chief marketing officer Severine Cosma, the move is part of a growth strategy put into place by Comlux president and CEO Richard Gaona shortly after he assumed control of the Zurich-based charter and aircraft management company last November.
Cosma said the Indianapolis-based center will be renamed Comlux Completion USA and former president and CEO Randy Keeker will remain with the company as president.
“It is an exciting time for Comlux,” said Gaona, former vice president of executive and private aviation for Airbus. “The acquisition of the Indianapolis Jet Center represents a significant step in the development of our North American operations, increasing our presence in the largest market in the world for business aviation.”
The Comlux vision is also to become one of the leading providers of executive/VIP cabin completions, said Cosma. “We are most definitely in a growth phase.”
The Comlux charter fleet of managed and owned aircraft is currently made up of Airbus and Bombardier executive/VIP jets; one Airbus ACJ, one A318 Elite, three Global Express XRSs, a Global 5000, a Challenger 605 and a Challenger 850. The company is based in Zurich and also operates aircraft staged from Almaty, Kazakhstan, Malta, Moscow and Prague.
