Constant Aviation has become the first Ohio maintenance facility to receive an FAA Class 4 repair station rating. “This means we can work on any airplane that we want over 12,500 pounds,” said vice president of operations Steve Maiden. Constant Aviation, based at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, is owned by Nextant Aerospace, which has launched the Nextant 400NXT Beechjet 400A/XP upgrade program and Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 retrofit package for the Beechjet. Constant also maintains Embraer Legacy 600s, Beechjets, Piaggio Avantis and Cessna Citation Xs. Constant was the first Embraer service center to remove and replace a Legacy wing assembly and the first to complete a Legacy 48-month inspection. Although Constant is an Embraer authorized service center, the company is not yet approved to maintain the soon-to-enter-service Embraer Phenom 100 VLJ. Still, Constant’s Class 4 rating is a “preparation to be able to do more,” Maiden said.
