In addition to announcing its selection of the Avidyne FlightMax Entegra for its two-seat Javelin “executive jet," Aviation Technology Group of Englewood, Colo., reported receiving letters of intent from three possible distributors on its way to convert from direct factory sales to a national distributor network. The company intends to have six distributors in the U.S. and one each in Canada and Mexico. Potential buyers have signed letters of intent for some 151 aircraft, according to George Bye, ATG president. He said he expects to obtain two additional letters of intent within the near term representing an additional 116 jets. Completion of the first Javelin prototypes and FAA certification is expected to take about three years, putting first customer deliveries in 2007. The company is also marketing the Javelin for advanced jet training, homeland defense, aerial targeting and unmanned combat air vehicle roles.
