Rep. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) agreed to add an NBAA-backed amendment to the Aviation Security Improvements Act that would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to issue regulations within 30 days of passage to allow eligible Part 91 aircraft to resume use of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). The bill already contains a provision that would order the DHS to issue security rules for on-demand air-taxi operators to fly into and out of DCA. Although Moran’s amendment does not specifically mention NBAA’s Transportation Security Administration Access Certificate as a possible security guideline, NBAA expects the TSA to look at it.
