The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has delegated the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) to train and certify individuals who can collect and process fingerprints required for airport-tenant employee background checks. It marks one of the first times the TSA has granted such authority to an aviation organization. NATA solicited the TSA months ago for the authority to oversee the fingerprinting operation, proposing a program based on NATA’s existing drug-testing platform.
