Watch for Bombardier to announce a new light business jet, possibly as soon as the Farnborough Air Show this month. The new aircraft, designated the Learjet 40, is aimed at gaining share of the light business jet market. The company’s current light jet, the Learjet 31A, has been losing market share to the Citation CJ series and the Raytheon Premier I. Also, anticipate at least a three-month slip in development of the super-midsize Bombardier Continental, delaying certification until the fourth quarter.
