Rolls-Royce will be eliminating as many as 2,300 managerial, professional and clerical staff positions “to create a leaner and more agile support structure better suited to the global markets in which we operate,” according to company COO Mike Terrett. He said the company is focusing the cutbacks on overhead and support functions but plans to continue to recruit graduates, apprentices and personnel “required directly to deliver growth.” He said the impact of the proposed changes will extend to the UK, U.S., Germany, Scandinavia and other countries where the targeted functions are located.
