The first Bombardier Global Express to be certified in Australia has started operation with Melbourne, Victoria-based Visy Board. The aircraft replaces a Gulfstream IV.
Although this is the first Global to appear on the Australian register, it is the third to be acquired by local companies. Westfield Corp., a shopping center developer, imported one last year, and Solomon Lew, a prominent Melbourne-based businessman, also operates a Global, though both are U.S. registered. Both of these aircraft also replaced Gulfstream IVs.

It is becoming increasingly common for Australian businessmen to register their aircraft offshore so they can avoid their operations being overseen by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
