Rockwell Collins last month said Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has selected the company’s Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics system for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet, a proposed 70- to 90-seat airliner targeted for certification in 2012 assuming the project gets the go-ahead. Pro Line Fusion features 15-inch-diagonal LCD flight displays and will include optional capabilities for enhanced and synthetic vision. As systems integrator for the project, Rockwell Collins would provide communication, navigation, surveillance and aircraft maintenance systems for the MRJ. Collins introduced Pro Line Fusion at the NBAA Convention in September, where launch customer Bombardier announced the cockpit will replace the Honeywell Primus 2000XP system in the Global Express XRS and Global 5000.
