Eclipse Aviation has placed a second Eclipse 500 very light jet, S/N 082, on the auction block. The online eBay auction began yesterday at 11 a.m. EST and will conclude at 8 p.m. on November 29. Bidding began at 95 percent of the aircraft’s retail value of $1,844,804.30, and bidders must pre-qualify with a $5,000 refundable deposit. The aircraft will be ready for customer delivery early next month. A company spokesman wouldn’t say how many aircraft Eclipse plans to auction, but the manufacturer previously said it would auction 40 of the first 200 aircraft produced. By the end of the third quarter, 49 Eclipse 500s had rolled off the production line. The first auction ended in August with a winning bid of $1,833,945 for S/N 038 by Morten Wagner, a 35-year-old Danish Internet entrepreneur. Meanwhile, Eclipse president and CEO Vern Raburn told AIN that the Avio NG avionics system is going through final certification tests. In addition, per-seat, on-demand air-taxi operator DayJet is scheduled to receive 10 more Eclipse 500s this month, bringing its fleet to 28 of the VLJs.
