Bell and Eurocopter posted large orders at the recent Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) held in Tampa, Fla., in September, selling a combined 50 helicopters. Bell received orders for 27, while Eurocopter sold 23.
Bell wrote orders for sixteen 206L-4 LongRangers from Air Evac Services,
a company that operates mainly in rural areas of Southern states on a subscription basis. The Texas-based manufacturer also sold eleven 407s to Med-Trans. It will deliver both orders between 2009 and 2011.
American Eurocopter announced the sale of 23 helicopters at the show worth more than $100 million for delivery through 2011. These orders include 16 EC 135s to Med-Trans, five to Omniflight and one to Reach Air Medical Services. It also announced the sale of an EC 145 to Cook Children’s Hospital.
