GA activity at Westchester County Airport in New York is declining, according to airport manager Peter Scherrer. He said the decline is “worrying.” Avgas fuel sales dropped from 397,247 gallons last year to a projected total of 372,000 gallons this year. However, business aviation still accounts for the highest percentage of sales and revenue, and Scherrer said jet-A fuel sales have increased from 30.5 million gallons last year to a projected 38 million gallons this year. He added, however, that the airport is running out of fuel-farm capacity. During President’s Week in February, the airport ran out of fuel to service the increased number of aircraft flying into the airport.
