In its second acquisition of a Sabreliner division in less than a month, the UK’s BBA Group plans to purchase the Midcoast Aviation FBO at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. In late April BBA acquired Sabreliner’s Premier Turbines major engine overhaul and maintenance business. BBA said it reached an agreement with Sabreliner to buy the FBO for $9.5 million, and the facility will join BBA’s Signature Flight Support chain upon completion of the deal. The acquisition will give BBA its first Signature location in the St. Louis area. Sabreliner said it is selling certain units to concentrate its future growth on airframe maintenance, modification and completions. At press time, Sabreliner still retained the Midcoast Aviation FBO at Cahokia/St. Louis Parks Downtown Airport.
The facility includes 100,000 sq ft under the roof, including four storage hangars and an executive terminal. Midcoast will continue to provide maintenance service as a tenant of Signature.
