A marginally sufficient 55 percent of the 540-strong force of eligible employees at aeromed operator Air Methods recently voted to approve representation by the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU). Under the Railway Labor Act, a simple majority is all that’s required for a union to win such a decision. According to a count by officials from the federal government’s National Mediation Board, a total of 298 Air Method workers voted in favor of OPEIU representation.
