CompletionAir, not even a year old and just beginning work on its first aircraft interiors, will expand dramatically with the upcoming merger with former rival Premier Air Center. The two companies, both at St. Louis Regional Airport in Alton, Ill., signed a letter of intent to merge last month. CompletionAir, launched in January, received its Part 145 repair facility certification in July and is focused on widebody completions. Its 75,000-sq-ft hangar will accommodate aircraft as large as a Boeing 767. Premier Air Center, founded in 1986, provides interior refurb work for a broad array of twin turboprops and light business jets and also maintains a full-service FBO at the airport. Premier Air Center is also one of only five independent factory-authorized Citation service centers in the U.S.
