The Salina (Kan.) Airport Authority today announced plans to build a new 69,000-sq-ft hangar and office complex in anticipation of continued growth at the SLN Aviation Service Center. “The Salina Airport Authority is constructing an all-new hangar and office facility as a key element of our long-term growth strategy,” noted SLN executive director Tim Rogers. “The Airport Authority has leased out all of its sizeable facilities to growing aviation operations…[and] the expansion will accommodate expected expansion and new aviation businesses on the airport.” Construction of the $6 million project, dubbed Hangar 600, at the airport will begin this fall, and the facility is expected to be available to tenants in June. The new structure will feature a 41,400-sq-ft-hangar, 22,600 sq ft of office and shop space and a 5,000-sq-ft customer service area. The Airport Authority recently completed construction of a new 120,000-sq-ft corporate headquarters and manufacturing complex on 15 acres.
